actually, carp have throat teeth. impossible as it seems, carp have plates in their throats that allow them to grind up what food is sucked up. (carp and koi, which are the same thing, eat almost anything.)

ye no, they are actually teeth. Have seen pics they look like human teeth, 2 on top 2 on bottom. same with chub/barbel. im also a carp fisherman ;)

@Chyaku im a british angler myself and hate to see anykind of fish die, but out in a america the carp which is known to them as the asian carp is a dangerous fish as it can spawn up to 3 times a year and is eating all the algy. the reason why americans kill carp is becuase the amount of carp that is in the rivers is sky high and there is a risk now that all over fish will die and there will be no more fish except for the carp. hope this helps. found this information on a nature show

@rageguy270 asian people eat carp but the "asian" carp thats overpopulating the rivers is a different kind. there are 3 or 4 kind of carp used for cleaning up algae. Ive ate carp before and it dont taste like mud but its nothing special. someone should market them to a asian Market n maybe make a few bucks off them
